The brief for this project was to make lighting feathures for both the dining area and kitchen island in a Georgian home situated in the rural town of Wirksworth, Derbyshire. The light pieces had to compliment the strong personality of the space which could be described as 'modern glamour' with it's deep velvet greens, reflective gold walls and contrasting dark wooden surfaces. The images below feature the Tiger Lily Chandelier in the dining area and two Lotus Dine lights over a kitchen island. Esther Patterson (founder and designer) says 'I worked closely with my very good friend, Isabel Cordero. It's lovely to work with her as her imagination seems to have no bounds. The Tiger Lilly chandelier was born from an afternoon of discussion and Isabel's hands-on experimentations with colour palettes and the glass shapes we had in our studio'. The Tiger Lilly combines the medium and large Tassel Lights with a 500mm tassel, a bespoke Stemmed Round, Oolong and Cloak and Dagger pendants in Yellow Ochre, Aubergine, Smoked Olive and Copper. From this the colours were chosen for the two Lotus Dine pendants - to contrast with the top walnut disk Isabel chose semi-opaque Lichen and a transparent Yellow Ochre cup. Whilst the colours linked the two areas the two distinctive styles defined the kitchen and dining spaces too.
